All Bosses & How to Beat Them

Ten named encounters, a consistent approach framework for each, and an honest label on every claim. Two of these fights were playable in the demo. The other eight were named by the published trophy list on 5 October 2026, which is why they appear with their names as fact and their tactics as inference.

How to read these pages

Each boss page separates three levels of evidence. Confirmed means the publisher, official footage or the trophy list says so. Reported means a hands-on journalist fought it and said so. Inference means we are reading the confirmed name, the trophy wording and the game's own systems. We do not present guesses as data, and we do not refuse to write the page either.

The universal approach

Break posture, do not drain health

Every confirmed account of a Valor Mortis boss describes the same win condition: parry inside the combo, fill the stagger bar, take the critical. Attrition loses.

Bring the answer, not the biggest number

Fire for anything that ignores blades, Stasis for crowds and summons, Shield when you have to walk into fire. The publisher names weapon-to-enemy matching as a design pillar for a reason.

Spend Catalysts before the door

Unspent Catalysts drop where you die. Walking into a boss with a bank you never claimed is choosing to risk two things at once.

Boss questions

How many bosses are in Valor Mortis?

Ten named encounters: General Lothaire, Justicar Aurelius, Iron Marshall, The Sphinx, Slaughtermill, The Bride, Experiment 83, The Orphan, Nephtis Superioris, The Entity. Two of those were playable in the demo. The other eight were named by the published trophy list.

Which boss is the hardest?

Nobody can answer that honestly yet, because eight of the ten have never been played outside the studio. What can be said is that both demo bosses are exams on parrying, and pre-release coverage expects that pattern to continue.

What is the first boss in Valor Mortis?

General Lothaire, the Eagle-Bearer, at the end of Chapter I — Revival. He fights with a polearm and a longsword at once and is the fight most players will lose several times.
